Our Transport Fleet

Heaney Meats have a fleet of Customised Mercedes Vehicles all of which are fully refrigerated and fitted with a tracking device that tracks their position, speed and temperature.

 

 

Tracking and Monitoring

There is also a Sat-Nav fitted which allows the Transport Office to see the next customer and give the customer an E.T.A. of arrival time. Also an application to send and receive text messages on the Sat-Nav lets the Transport Office re-route vans if and when necessary.The temperature is being monitored every 15 minutes and allows the Quality Department to verify the temperatures.

 

Upon delivery the drivers write on the delivery dockets the temperature and the time of your delivery. All activity is constantly monitored by our Transport Manager's.The transport staff at Heaney Meats are rotated in such a way that there will always be a driver on call for Sundays, Holidays and Bank holidays.

 

 

Holiday Cover

Bank Holidays and Easter, as the company services the hospitality industry there is a demand for continuous service through these periods.We only close from the 24th - 26th December for Christmas with emergency numbers available during this period and delivery right up to and including the 23rd of December. Regarding sick leave every manager has a back up who is trained fully in that role, this is part of our quality manual and a prerequisite with our HACCP compliance.

 

Our Tracking System allows us at any time to check the real time status of our vehicles, they are tracked by registration, recording temperature and speed whether they are stationary or moving.This allows us to give an E.T.A. to our customers regarding delivery times.
