Kenneth Wins Young
Butcher of the Year

Shayne Wins Young
Butcher of the Year

Both directors have remarkably similar profiles which, no doubt, is a large

contributing factor to the overwhelmingly successful partnership

forged by them. Both brothers Kenneth and Shayne, it seems were destined

to continue the family line of Master Butchers, as every generation before

them followed this profession, dating back over 300 years.

They cultivated their love and flair for this profession from an early age,

spending every available hour after school, weekends and school holidays

working alongside their father John in the meat business.

After graduation from the Institute of Meat with distinctions, both of them

used their skills and passion for the meat business to compete in and

successfully achieve the ‘Connaught Young Butcher of the Year’ and ‘Irish

Young Butcher of the Year’ awards respectively

Both directors also have the rare title of being ‘Master Butchers’. This title is

held by only a small percentage of butchers in Ireland. To obtain it, the

individual must be qualified in the handling of livestock, qualified in all

aspects of abbatoir lairage and slaughter and also qualified in deboning,

dressing and sales of meat products.

This in depth professional knowledge and expertise gives our customers the

confidence to know that they are dealing with a company led by two of the

most qualified Meat Professionals in the country.
